SEED

"SEED" is a site-specific ambient sound installation created by legendary British musician and artist Brian Eno in collaboration with Turkish writer and journalist Ece Temelkuran. Running from May 1 to August 2, 2026, the piece is hosted inside the newly restored Giardini di San Paolo in Parma, Italy.

The installation spreads multiple evolving tracks of generative music across the 8,000-square-meter park. The audio changes in real-time based on where you walk, allowing every visitor to mix their own unique, unrepeatable soundtrack. Temelkuran created narratives surrounding five fictional bird species to prompt reflections on nature, humanity, and peace. After the exhibition concludes in August 2026, the unique field recordings from the gardens will be cut into a single, one-of-a-kind vinyl record to be kept in Parma's permanent public collection at the Casa del Suono (House of Sound).
